Caboose
Count the pips from a photo.
Caboose keeps score for Mexican Train dominoes — and counts the pips left in your hand from a photo.
At the end of every round, everyone adds up the dots on the tiles they’re still holding. Caboose does that part for you: lay your tiles face up on the table, take one photo, and it counts the pips, drawing a ring round every one it found so you can check it. The number is always yours to correct before it goes on the card. Or just type it.
What it does
- Count a hand from a photo — on your phone, with no network and nothing stored
- Type a score, or tap Went Out for a zero
- Double nine, double twelve and double fifteen sets
- A full game from the highest double down to 0|0, or a shorter one: pick the number of rounds
- The round’s engine drawn at the centre of the table, with a line for every train
- A scoreboard with every round, where any earlier score can be corrected
- The lowest total wins; ties share a place
- Every game kept: pick one back up from History, or see who wins most in Stats
- Up to eight players, in the order you play
- Light and dark, or follow your iPhone
- English, Spanish and French
The photo stays on your phone
The count is worked out on your device, in memory. The photo is never saved, never uploaded, and never sent anywhere — Caboose has no networking code of its own. If you would rather not use the camera at all, turn it off and type every score; nothing else changes.
Free, all of it
