Privacy Policy

The short version

Caboose does not collect, store, or share your personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no trackers. The app makes no network requests of its own — there is no networking code in it. The only thing that reaches the internet is Apple’s App Store, if you choose to leave a tip.

Photos of your hand

Caboose can count the pips on the dominoes left in your hand from a photo. You take the photo with the camera, and the count is worked out on your device, in memory. The photo is never saved by the app, never uploaded, and never sent to us or to anyone else. Once the pips are counted, it is gone.

The camera is only used when you tap to photograph your hand, and iOS asks your permission the first time. You can turn camera access off at any time in Settings, and still type every score by hand.

Your games

Every game you play — the players’ names, the set, and each round’s scores — is kept in a file inside the app’s own storage on your phone, so a game survives the app being closed and finished games make up the history and stats. Your light or dark preference is kept alongside it. Nothing else is stored. It is never transmitted, there is no account or sync, it is included in your device backup as any app’s data is, and it is deleted when you delete the app. You can delete any game from the history at any time.

Purchases

The optional tips in Settings are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment information. Tips support development and unlock nothing — every feature of the app is free, and there are no subscriptions and no ads.

Analytics and tracking

Caboose contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software, and no third-party SDKs that collect data. We do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and we do not track you across apps or websites. The app’s privacy manifest declares no collected data types and no tracking domains.

Children

Caboose collects no data from anyone. It is a scorecard.
