Sundial
200 push-ups by sunset.
Sundial keeps your daily rep counts — 200 push-ups today, in sets of ten — and paces them against the sun.
By the time a third of the daylight has gone, a third of the goal should be done. Sundial draws the sun’s arc across the sky from sunrise to sunset, and beneath it a band for each thing you’re counting, inked as far along as your count has got. Ahead or behind is two angles compared at a glance, and the number is always printed beside it.
Counted from the Home Screen
- A widget for each counter, with − and + for a set, so a set is one tap without opening the app
- Several counters, each with its own daily goal and its own set size
- “Keeping pace with the sun” within one set of the pace; “Goal reached” when it’s done
- Every day kept: tap a counter’s name for its streaks, a bar a day against its goal, and a calendar of the days you hit and missed
- The count starts again at midnight
The sun where you are
- Today’s sunrise and sunset, worked out on your iPhone from roughly where you are — an approximate location is all it asks for
- Under the midnight sun the pace runs across the whole day; in the polar night there is no pace to keep
- Rather not share your location? Pick your time zone instead, for an approximate sunrise and sunset
And the rest
- Light and dark, or follow your iPhone
- VoiceOver reads each counter whole: “Push-ups: 40 of 200. 24 behind the sun.”
- English, Spanish and French
